The tour!
Your food tour will begin at Grey's Monument in the heart of the City, where you will meet your guide and have the opportunity to chat through food preferences and options. We can cater for omnivores and vegetarians, Ian the tour founder is a lifelong vegetarian, however, at this time we are unable to accommodate vegan or gluten free diets. The tour is limited to 8 people maximum. We will take in a minimum of 6 food and drink stops along the way, giving you a taste of local food and produce, and a drink or two! Although we have our favourites stops, the route may change depending on availability and customer preferences. We provide generous sample dishes as opposed to whole meals, so that you can try more options without feeling uncomfortable. All food and drink is included in the cost of the tour and we guarantee you will not leave us hungry. There may also be opportunities to purchase your favourites from our food partners to take home.
Be Prepared!
This is a walking tour, covering approximately 2 miles, with a downhill stretch and frequent stops. This helps with both appetite and digestion! Please wear appropriate footwear. This is not a circular tour, staying within the city, ending a short distance from where we started. We will be happy to point you in your onward direction. Although Newcastle has one of the lowest rainfalls in the UK, we cannot guarantee the weather, and the tour will go ahead regardless.
Recommendations
Our team all live and work in the area and are very knowledgable on local places to eat and drink. We will be happy to recommend snack stops, bars and restaurants for the rest of your stay. We are not on commission and all recommendations are purely based on personal experiences. We can also often recommend places to eat and drink if you are venturing further out of the City.
